After seemingly confirming an ongoing investigation into the online entity known as smartschoolboy9, UK police have since removed their post from social media.
Exactly one month ago, Nick Crowley premiered a mini-documentary on his YouTube channel that delves into a disturbing online phenomenon centered around smartschoolboy9.
In summary, Reddit users uncovered several Instagram accounts that appeared to impersonate children, featuring heavily edited, distorted, and even explicit images. The investigation led to the discovery of smartschoolboy9, an account (now deleted) operated by an adult male who dressed in tight school uniforms. In one unsettling clip, he was seen pursuing a real child.
As online sleuths searched for clues and attempted to reach out to the individual behind the account, rumors of his past arrests prompted Greenwich MPS to alert parents on X/Twitter about the purported online predator.
“Parents, please be vigilant about ‘SMART SCHOOL BOY 9’ messages circulating on Snapchat. A male is posing as a child and interacting with kids on social media. An investigation is underway, but his intentions remain unclear. Stay alert and discuss online safety with your children,” the initial post stated.
However, this post has now been deleted, and no further information has been provided regarding the case or the status of the investigation.
Though unconfirmed, many speculate that David London may be the individual behind the smartschoolboy9 account, although this could be an alias, similar to David Alter, another previously suspected name.
Differentiating fact from fiction has proven challenging in recent weeks. Numerous fake interviews with David London have emerged, and smartschoolboy9’s voicemail seemingly leaked on the case’s subreddit.
