Police to Soon Refer BTS Suga’s ‘Drunk Scooter’ Case to Prosecution

The police are anticipated to wrap up their investigation in the near future and forward the case of BTS member Suga (Min Yoon-gi, 31), who is accused of driving under the influence, to the prosecution. During a routine press conference held at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 26th, Chief Kim Bong-sik announced, “The investigation has been completed and the case will be closed soon.”

On the 25th, 17 days after being arrested for drunk driving, Suga voluntarily appeared at Yongsan Police Station where he was questioned for violating the Road Traffic Act. Throughout the investigation, Suga confessed to all charges of drunk driving.

On the 6th of this month, Suga was charged with breaking the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) after being discovered by the police near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, while riding an electric scooter after consuming alcohol. His blood alcohol level at the time of the incident was 0.227%, well above the legal limit of 0.08% for license revocation.

On the 25th, Suga expressed his remorse through a handwritten apology on the fan community platform ‘Weverse.’ He acknowledged his wrongful actions and apologized for disappointing and hurting his fans and all those who love him. He admitted that he had neglected his responsibility to reciprocate the love he had received with appropriate behavior, and deeply regretted his significant mistake.
