Popular Idol Group Faces ‘Excessive Security’ Controversy… ‘Approached and Pushed Hard, Leaving Bruises on Legs’

On the 11th, a netizen uploaded a post on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that they were subjected to verbal abuse and physical assault by the manager of the boy group ZEROBASEONE.

According to a presumed fan of ZEROBASEONE, Netizen A, they went to the airport with a camera specifically to capture member Zhang Hao’s arrival. A clarified that they took photos without causing any disturbance to the members, but alleged that the bodyguards and manager approached distant fans and began pushing them.

Another online user made similar allegations about the manager and bodyguards of the same group, citing ‘excessive security’ as the issue.

A stated, “Although I was far from the manager, the security personnel approached and forcefully pushed people, causing myself and two others to fall. In the midst of this, my knee was scraped and my shoes were knocked off.”

The person also stated, “The artist’s manager ridiculed me, making fun of my injured knee and lost shoes as if it were pitiful.”They went on to say, “In addition, the manager gestured towards me, seemingly telling the artist to ‘take a look,’ causing me to become a source of amusement in front of a large crowd.”

A concluded the post by stating, “I hope that this post will prevent others from facing the same criticism that the artist has received.”

Additionally, another netizen, who was with A, alleged that fans were mistreated by security personnel and managers, resulting in bruises on their companion’s arm from being pushed and shoved. They stressed that such incidents with security personnel have been happening regularly during public events.

At the same time, disputes surrounding the high level of security provided for idols and celebrities at airports continue to surface.

In the previous month, a young supporter of the male band CRAVITY alleged that they had been physically attacked by a personal security guard at the airport, resulting in a diagnosis of a concussion.

In that same month, it caused controversy when Byun Woo-seok’s bodyguard was caught illegally controlling airport gates and checking passengers’ tickets in the Incheon Airport lounge.
