Popular Idol Sparks Excitement with Creative Comeback Teaser: ‘So Mom Coded’

On X, the unconventional comeback teasers of THIS second-gen male idol went viral before its release, causing a stir in the online community.

On June 26, SHINee’s Key is scheduled to make a comeback to the music industry with their upcoming Japanese single, “Tongue Tied”!

On June 13, SM Entertainment released a schedule poster announcing that the sound source would be revealed on the same day, followed by the release of the music video on July 3. The physical album is set to be released on August 7.

Leading up to Key’s highly-anticipated return, he began hinting at the potential concept of the song by releasing teaser sets from June 17 to June 20 to excite his fans.

Every day, the male icon has been sharing high-quality photos showcasing his stylish and fashionable outfits. He has been gaining attention in online communities for his clever and innovative concepts. However, fans are disappointed that he will primarily be promoting in Japan instead of South Korea.

On June 20, he further heightened the excitement of K-pop fans for his upcoming single when he dominated the attention of the crowd with his Image Teasing #4.

Initially, the first set consisted of vibrant infomercials that are typically found in print and online media. These infomercials contained a range of keywords that were reportedly related to his upcoming single album. As a result, they caught the interest of internet users and have now accumulated approximately five hundred thousand views.

Despite this, when SM shared the second set of images teasing #4, it caused people to question whether it was actually posted by the official account.

In the photo, Key was standing with his hands clasped together while the words “Inside my mind”and “In my head”were displayed. The unusual choice of a green background and pink text left fans wondering if Key was playfully teasing them, especially after the release of three consecutive high-quality teasers in the last three days.

In addition, he included his beloved dogs, Comme des and Garcons, in the teaser by sharing a gif collage of them on a pink background adorned with roses, accompanied by a moving text.

“Make my day, just like my favorite song.”

Currently, there are approximately 1 million views and more than 85,000 likes for this piece of writing.

The main factor behind its viral success among fans was the nostalgia it evoked, particularly for older fans and internet users who used to edit idols in the same manner as Key.

However, younger fans who were not old enough to have experienced it themselves shared stories from their mothers and grandmas, who frequently share a similar-looking gif.
