With its premiere on August 7th, the movie “Hatching of Love”is predicted to bring a pink hue to the movie theaters this summer as it takes the top spot in ticket reservation rankings.
The film “Hatching of Love”, directed by Kim Soo-hoon and produced by SAMG Entertainment, is based on the beloved animated TV show “Heartsping: Teenieping of Love”, which has garnered over 800 million views. It follows the first encounter between Romi and Heartsping.
As the animated TV series gained popularity, the character Heartsping also caught the attention of young people. It wasn’t just young children who were drawn to this character, but even young idols showed their fondness for it. In a recent episode of a SBS program, viewers were surprised to see ‘National MC’ Yoo Jae-suk using a cell phone covered in Heartsping stickers on the back.
According to the August 6th movie ticket rankings report, “Hatching of Love”claimed the top spot with a reservation rate of 17% (74,006 people). Following closely behind are Jo Jung-suk’s “Pilot”(16%) and “Land of Happiness”(10.8%), according to the report.
Specifically, the “Hatching of Love”reservation rate exceeded the pre-release numbers of both “Elemental”(2023) from the US, which had 7.24 million moviegoers, and “The First Slam Dunk”(2023) from Japan, which was viewed by 4.88 million individuals.
Therefore, the focus is on whether “Hatching of Love” will demonstrate the potential of domestic animation by achieving even more success.
