By utilizing a clever tactic in the Go Battle League, PvP players can acquire the highly sought-after Ultra Beasts Blacephalon and Stakataka in Pokemon Go, without having to participate in Raids.
The recent Ultra Space Wonders event in Pokemon Go has introduced Blacephalon, Stakataka, and Naganadel into the game. While the former two Ultra Beasts can only be found in 5-Star Raids, players can easily obtain Naganadel by evolving Poipole.
Defeating Stakataka and Blacephalon can be a difficult challenge, but certain PvP players have discovered a clever method for obtaining them in their respective regions. This allows them to avoid the difficulties of battling in Raids. By achieving three out of five wins in the Go Battle League sets after reaching Rank 20, players can obtain these elusive Pokémon.
Within an hour of its release in Pokemon Go, Reddit user ‘SableyeEyeThief’ wasted no time in obtaining a Blacephalon for themselves through GBL rewards.

Reaching Rank 20 in the GBL is not a challenging task, as all you have to do is win as many battles as possible without your progress being affected by losses.
Despite this, reaching this Rank often poses a challenge for many, as it requires at least three wins to have a chance at encountering the active Legendary/Ultra Beast in 5-Star Raids with a guaranteed reward.
However, the situation was saved by a trainer who revealed the impressive GBL exploit: “Reach level 20, intentionally lose a few matches to lower your rank, and then it becomes simple to achieve a 3/5 record. You will likely encounter teams with 10cp Pokémon.”This strategy, known as ‘tanking’ in Pokemon Go, is commonly used by trainers during GBL Weekend events to collect a substantial amount of Stardust.
One person also noted that their PvP victories allowed them to obtain the highly sought-after Registeel through rewards from the Go Battle League. This powerful Pokémon is a popular choice for the Great and Ultra League formats.
As the World of Wonders season comes to a close on June 1, 2024 in Pokemon Go, you can utilize this GBL trick to obtain Stakataka in the Eastern Hemisphere and Blacepalon in the Western Hemisphere. Don’t forget to activate a Lucky Egg and Star Piece for extra bonuses.
