The Apex Legends Double Take Collection event patch includes a significant nerf for Bloodhound, causing many players and professionals to believe that the Legend will no longer be a strong choice in the meta.
It has always been a challenge for developers to balance scan characters, especially Seer, who has been consistently receiving nerfs that ultimately led to the Legend being pushed out of the meta.
Despite facing numerous nerfs over the years, Bloodhound has remained a staple in the meta.
The Double Take Collection Event patch notes are bringing possible changes, particularly for Bloodhound’s abilities which will receive significant modifications. These changes should not be considered as buffs.
The list below outlines all the nerfs to Bloodhound included in the Double Take patch.
- Beast of the Hunt: threat vision is no longer visible through smoke or gas
- Upgrade: Level 2
- Raven’s Blessing: Ult charge reduced to 20% (was 25%)
- Upgrades: Level 3
- NEW Sighthound: reduced Tac cooldown by 50% while Ultimate is active
- NEW Flock: remove enemy range requirement for White Raven spawns
- Both previous Level 3 upgrades have been removed with this change
Despite Bloodhound’s Beast of the Hunt ultimate being nerfed and more easily countered by Legends such as Caustic and Bangalore, their Level 3 upgrades are still significantly weaker than their previous versions.
The Level 3 upgrades that are currently in place will be replaced with the upcoming update.
- While Beast of the Hunt is active, the Taste of Blood ability grants a 25HP increase upon knocking down an opponent.
- Extending the duration of Beast of the Hunt, knocks will be able to prolong the effects of Long Hunt.
The upgrades were designed to enhance Bloodhound’s abilities and enable them to easily defeat enemy teams. As a result, the introduction of new Level 3 perks will significantly alter their late-game persona.
Despite the creative ways others have found to express their concerns about the nerfs, Apex Legends pro ImperialHal simply responded “F*ck me I guess”in reaction to the changes. This shows the significant impact the nerfs will have on Bloodhound.

Just like with any set of nerfs, there’s a possibility that Bloodhound won’t be affected as much as players anticipate from these adjustments. Nevertheless, Bloodhound will undoubtedly be less powerful than their earlier state.
