Players of Overwatch 2 have strong beliefs that they have found hints in the sky suggesting the upcoming release of the game’s next support hero.
Season 11 of Overwatch 2 is currently in progress, but players will have to wait until S12 for the opportunity to play as the upcoming character known as ‘Space Ranger’, which is currently in development.
Despite this, Blizzard may have a surprise in store, as several players have noticed a figure flying through the night sky in multiple maps.
As the keen-eyed content creator Hazelet observed, similar meteors were spotted on Route 66, Hollywood, and Blizzard World – all of which are situated in the United States.

Midtown is the only American map that does not include the space object, although it remains in its Pride month variation.
Strangely enough, the meteor is not yet visible in other places, so we’ll need to wait and see if other maps are also updated.
It is speculated by players that this may be a hint at the upcoming hero, Space Ranger, who is set to be the next support character in OW2 and was initially revealed at BlizzCon in November of 2023.
While we do not have any information on their abilities or confirmed name, the concept art depicts them equipped with a “burst-fire Smart SMG”and shoulder-mounted rocket pods.

Ever since Mauga, Blizzard has consistently offered players the chance to test out new heroes before their official release. As a result, players can anticipate being able to play as Space Ranger at some point during Season 10.
Despite this, there may be more to the situation than initially thought. It is also possible that this is related to the forthcoming Transformers collaboration, set to launch on July 9.
Fortunately, the collab is only a few weeks away, so fans won’t have to endure a long wait to discover whether the new hero is being hinted at for Transformers, or perhaps even both.
