Possible Return of Sam Raimi as Director for Spider-Man 4 with a Twist

Despite expectations, Sam Raimi may return to direct another Spider-Man movie with Spider-Man 4, but it may not be the film that fans are anticipating.

Ever since Raimi’s departure, Spider-Man fans have been eagerly anticipating his return to the director’s chair for another adventure with their beloved neighborhood hero. Luckily, their desires may soon become a reality.

According to World of Reel, it has been reported that Raimi is among the potential directors for Spider-Man 4, a highly anticipated installment among fans. However, unlike the previous Tobey Maguire trilogy, this film would feature Tom Holland as the lead.

The production for Holland’s Spider-Man 4, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home, is scheduled to begin in the fall. However, the project currently does not have a director attached.

It was widely anticipated that Jon Watts, who directed all three of Holland’s Spider-Man films, would return to helm the next installment. However, recent reports have revealed that he has declined the offer. Another name that was considered for the role was Drew Goddard, known for his work on The Cabin in the Woods. However, he is currently focused on directing the fifth Matrix film and does not have any plans to take on a Spider-Man project at this time.

Raimi’s initial installment of Spider-Man (currently re-released in theaters) was released in 2002. He then directed two subsequent films: Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and the third installment in 2007. After a gap of fifteen years, he reunited with Marvel to helm Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Although he has not officially confirmed his involvement in Holland’s next Spider-Man movie, he has expressed a desire to direct Avengers: Secret Wars.

Although filming for Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to begin this fall, there are still plenty of new releases premiering this month for you to enjoy.
