Possible Return of Sword & Shield’s Biggest Feature Predicted by Pokemon Go Fans

As anticipation builds for the upcoming Summer announcements in the world of Pokemon Go, fans are already discussing potential new features. One highly desired addition to the game is the inclusion of Gigantamax Pokemon, a feature currently present in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

The Mega Evolution feature, which has been a significant aspect of Pokemon Go for the past few years, has been absent from the mainline games for several generations. However, it has been confirmed that Mega Evolution will make a return in the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A.

However, Pokemon Go is nearing its limit for possible Mega Pokemon additions, with only a handful remaining, including Mega Camerupt and both forms of Mega Mewtwo. Therefore, fans of Pokemon Go are hoping that the next feature to be introduced to mobile will be Gigantamax from Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Gigantamax Pokemon function in a similar manner to Mega Pokemon, as they are temporary transformations that can only be used on a single member of your team. As a result, they would seamlessly integrate with the current Mega Pokemon for competitive battles and Raids.

On the subject of Gigantamax, popular Pokemon YouTuber Poke AK created a video where they discuss the potential of the feature being added to Pokemon Go. In the video, they mention possible leaks that suggest its arrival in the future. However, due to the lack of substantial evidence, Gigantamax has not been officially confirmed.

Despite the lack of Galar Pokemon in Pokemon Go, fans are still eagerly anticipating the feature and have expressed their excitement in the comments.

The prospect of numerous Pokemon Sword & Shield creatures making their first appearance in Go with the addition of their Gigantamax Raid is thrilling, particularly for beloved characters such as Orbeetle and Grimmsnarl.

One comment speculates that Gigantamax may be coming to Pokemon Go, stating, “This could be the reason why they didn’t include gen 8. Perhaps they are planning to release them alongside gigantamax, since it is from the same generation.”

Despite the anticipation for Pokemon Sword & Shield content in Pokemon Go, the game has continued to focus on Paldea. This is evident from the fact that even the Scarlet & Violet starters were introduced before Sword and Shield, while Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble have yet to make an appearance in the mobile game.

As Niantic continues to introduce new mega Pokemon, a transition to Gigantamax may inject some renewed enthusiasm into the game and provide players with another incentive to participate in Raids.
