After bringing Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth into the MCU, Deadpool and Wolverine are now teaming up with director Shawn Levy to express interest in their next collaboration: Spider-Man.
With the success of Deadpool and Wolverine at the box office, it’s clear that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will most likely continue to play their respective characters in the future. In the film’s conclusion, we see the characters surviving the events and returning to Deadpool’s world, but it appears they have now formed connections with the TVA.
The connections pave the way for an opportunity to explore the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, which presents endless possibilities. In an interview with Total Film, director Shawn Levy disclosed his ultimate crossover ambition would be collaborating with Spider-Man.
According to Levy, one of the most fascinating things about Deadpool is his boldness, which adds an extra layer of intrigue to everything. Levy expressed a desire to see Deadpool and Spidey team up in a movie, a project that he would love to be a part of. He believes that Tom Holland’s performance would outshine all others in this dynamic duo.

Many fans have been eagerly anticipating a crossover between Deadpool and Spider-Man. In the comics, the two have a complicated working relationship where Spider-Man may not always approve of Deadpool’s methods, but still maintains a level of respect and even friendship towards him.
The friendship between Spider-Man and Deadpool has resulted in numerous memorable moments, including instances where they were forced to work together and Deadpool found himself stuck in a 1960s Spider-Man comic. This pairing was purposely created to bring about comedic moments, with Deadpool’s characteristic humor allowing Spider-Man to play the more serious role and establishing a one-of-a-kind dynamic between them.
It is still uncertain what the future has in store for Deadpool. Reynolds has been evasive about reprising his role as the character, stating to Collider that he is unsure if or when he will put on the costume once more.
“Currently, I am uncertain if I will ever have the opportunity to wear the Deadpool suit again,”stated Reynolds. “I am hopeful that I will, but for now, I believe it is best to put it aside and wait and see what the future holds.”
At the same time, it is anticipated that Tom Holland’s portrayal of Spider-Man will make an appearance in either or both of the upcoming Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars, for the MCU. However, there is no official confirmation at this time. Additionally, there are plans for a fourth Spider-Man film developed by Sony, but as of now, no information has been disclosed.
In 2025, the upcoming MCU film, Captain America: Brave New World, will be released in theaters. In the meantime, you can learn more about the rumored introduction of the Thanos-level mutant by The Fantastic Four or the circulating fake script for Kang Dynasty.
