Possible Upcoming Operation after a Three-Year Absence, According to CS2 Dataminer

A Counter-Strike 2 dataminer has announced that an upcoming Operation will be released after a nearly three-year hiatus from the game. The Operation will also introduce significant cosmetic changes to the game.

Valve’s Counter-Strike 2 has been a huge hit, with significant updates to stickers, the addition of new skins for the Zeus, changes to gameplay, and more. Despite its success, players have continuously expressed disappointment over the lack of a new Operation.

The most recent release was Riptide in September 2021. For many years, there have been limited operations, as the major updates that introduced new maps, cases, and co-op game modes have been absent.

After nearly three years, dataminers have suggested that a new Operation may be in the works, featuring multiple fresh maps and an abundance of additional cosmetics.

In a recently released video by Gabe Follower, a Valve insider, several new pieces of information have been revealed from CS2’s files, indicating the possibility of a new Operation. Notably, the 25th anniversary of Counter-Strike, which fell on June 19, makes it a fitting timeframe for the release of a significant Operation.

One of his claims is that CS2’s code contains lines indicating the addition of a new comic, which has so far only been released alongside a new Operation. He also mentions that numerous map makers have been frequently updating their maps, suggesting that Valve may have requested these changes in preparation for a potential Operation release.

According to Gabe Follower, the maps Thera, Memento, Assembly, Pool Day, and Mills are expected to be included in the rumored Operation, as they have been receiving frequent updates recently.

Moreover, Gabe Follower also emphasizes Aquarius’ statement, shared on Twitter, that Valve is choosing skins for a forthcoming weapon case that will be released alongside the rest of the leaked material.

Furthermore, Gabe Follower asserts that CS2’s code also contains references to weapon “keychains”, reminiscent of Valorant’s gun buddies. In addition, there are indications of potential “pets”being introduced, granting players the ability to pick up and “inspect”chickens in a similar manner as they would a weapon.

Additional leaked potential additions to the Operation include customizable clothing items. This means that players may have the ability to select their own masks, headgear, clothing, and other options.

Despite this, it is important to approach this information with caution, as Valve has not yet released any teasers and is known for their tendency to remain silent.
