Postponement of One Piece Fish-Man Island Saga Remake Announced

The One Piece anime has officially begun a six-month break, set to last until April 2025. This tough yet essential step allows Toei Animation the necessary time to fine-tune the adaptation of the Egghead Arc while ensuring it meets the high-quality visual standards that fans have come to love since the Wano Arc.

While waiting for the thrilling conclusion of the Egghead Arc, fans can look forward to a remastered version of the Fish-Man Island Saga. This revamped adaptation, much improved from the original series that aired more than ten years ago, promises enhanced visuals and faster pacing. The release date for this new version is October 27, 2024, but the premiere of its first episode has been pushed to November 3, 2024, due to scheduling conflicts.

Delay Announced for One Piece’s Fish-Man Island Saga Remaster to November 3, 2024

On October 21, the production team revealed the delay on their official X social media account. Initially slated for an October 27, 2024, premiere, the first episode of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga will now debut on November 3, 2024, kicking off the remastered series.

The scheduling conflict arose because the One Piece slot will be taken up by the live airing of the MLB World Series. Rather than bump the animated episode, the network chose to postpone it, as baseball enjoys immense popularity in Japan.

This means fans will need to wait an extra week for the anticipated rebirth of the Fish-Man Island Saga. However, this delay will be worth it, as Toei Animation aims to elevate viewer enjoyment with a fresh and polished rendition of the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventure following their two-year timeskip.

After two years of intense training in preparation for challenges in the New World, the crew reunites and departs from Sabaody Archipelago to explore the enchanting, yet treacherous, Fish-Man Island, where they confront the malevolent Hody Jones.

The original story spanned 58 episodes, but One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga will streamline this narrative into just 21 episodes, airing weekly until the ongoing anime returns in April 2025.

This remastered saga will not only feature a more concise pace but will also benefit from significant visual upgrades. Every scene has been meticulously enhanced using the contemporary art style and shading typical of more recent arcs, incorporating greater depth in colors and shadows, along with several scenes redone from the ground up. Furthermore, the sound has been refined with the inclusion of Dolby Atmos technology.

According to previews, the first episode of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga will cover the events from the original’s episodes 517 and 518. Viewers will witness the post-timeskip Straw Hat Pirates reuniting in Sabaody, where they encounter Silvers Rayleigh, Shakky, and Duval. Additionally, Brook’s final concert adds to the excitement amid impostors attempting to impersonate the crew.

The preview concludes with a tense moment as the Marines, commanded by Dr. Vegapunk’s bodyguard Sentomaru, encircle the area while teasing the newly acquired abilities of Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro. This remastered edition seems to hold great potential, and the extra week of anticipation will surely elevate fans’ excitement for Toei Animation’s upcoming release.
