Once the preload option becomes available, the process is straightforward for those who have already secured their copy. If you haven’t purchased the game yet, simply buy it and follow the steps outlined below to set up your console or PC.
For PlayStation Users
To preload Black Ops 6 on your PS4 or PS5, the process is quite simple, though you’ll need to wait until preloads commence on October 20.
Once preloading is available, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Call of Duty app on your PlayStation console.
- Press the Options button.
- Select Manage Game Content.
- Locate Black Ops 6.
- Select Install.
If you don’t have the COD app downloaded yet, obtain it through the PlayStation Store and then follow the aforementioned steps, or just download Black Ops 6 directly from the store.
For Xbox Users
Preloading on Xbox systems is just as easy as on PlayStation, with a quick method to prepare for installation.

However, as of now, there is no set date for Black Ops 6 preloads on Xbox.

- Click on the settings icon.

- Go to the DLC tab.
- Verify any files related to Black Ops 6.
- Initiate the update.
On Battle.net
For those using Battle.net, here’s how to start preloading:

- From the drop-down menu, choose Modify Install.
- Go to the Content section and select Modify Install again.
- Find the BO6 content and click Install.
- Hit Start Update to begin the download.
Keep in mind that you won’t be able to complete the installation until the official launch on October 25, meaning early access will not be possible on any platform!
