Prime Video Adds Crunchyroll to Its List of Channels in India

This feature enables members to subscribe to the anime streaming platform for a nominal monthly fee of ₹79.

Crunchyroll has been continuously expanding its presence in India. Its recent efforts have included hosting anime screenings, launching a marketing campaign, and introducing more regional language dubs for anime. As a result, the company has now apparently joined forces with Prime Video to further expand its user base.

Prime Video Channels in India gained an additional offering on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 when Crunchyroll was included by Prime Video, expanding the availability of beloved anime shows for enthusiasts throughout the nation.

Prime members now have the option to add on a subscription to the anime streaming platform for a discounted rate of just ₹79 per month. This subscription grants them full access to over 800 anime titles, all of which are available in multiple languages for viewers in India as soon as they are released in Japan.

Prime members can now access over 40 new shows from the latest anime seasons, such as Kaiju No.8, Black Butler – Public School Arc, Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, The Apothecary Diaries, and many others, with the add-on subscription.

The greatest aspect is that certain well-known programs are also available to watch with regional language dubs such as Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, aside from English.

This is in addition to the extensive selection of high-quality content available for fans to view on the same platform, namely, Prime Video.

On behalf of Prime Video, Gaurav Bhasin, Head of Prime Video Channels and Movie Rentals, made this statement:

“The popularity of anime content in India has grown exponentially over the last few years, and through various Channels, we are working towards building a wide and diverse library of popular and blockbuster Japanese animation.”

The launch of Crunchyroll on Prime Video Channels brought great excitement as it made it easier for Prime members in India to access the newest anime content, right after its release in Japan. Additionally, the inclusion of regional language dubs was a welcomed addition, allowing new viewers to seamlessly discover new shows and movies.
