The anime Promise of Wizard is scheduled to debut in January 2025, according to an official announcement made by the show’s creators during a special event on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Along with this update, a teaser visual created by the anime’s character designer and chief animation director, Nozomi Nagamoto, has also been revealed.
The Wizard anime is a faithful adaptation of the popular Japanese online simulation game of the same name, created by Cole. Originally released in Japan in November 2019 for Android and iOS devices, this smartphone video game has now been brought to life by LIDEN FILMS in the form of an anime series.
Upcoming Release: Promise of Wizard anime debuts in January 2025
On Sunday, May 12, 2024, a cast event was held for the upcoming smartphone game, Promise of Wizard. During the event, the staff unveiled the first promotional video and a teaser visual for the game’s highly anticipated anime adaptation.
Based on the brief video, the anime Promise of Wizard is scheduled to debut in January 2025. The promotional footage specifically showcases the protagonist, Akira Maki, venturing into a realm where both humans and wizards coexist. Additionally, this magical world is home to wizards from different nations.
Undoubtedly, the trailer successfully builds anticipation for the release of the anime. However, the exact date of its release remains undisclosed. Additionally, the Promise of Wizard- Our Magical Party Wiz You! ~ An Invitation to Walpurgis Night event also unveiled a teaser visual for the highly anticipated anime.
Interestingly, the visual has been drawn by Nozomi Nagamoto, the character designer and chief animation director for the anime. It showcases Arthur, the prince of the Central country, in all his grandeur.
It seems as if he is clutching a book and wearing a serious look on his face. Next to him, the scene includes a black cat and confirms the anime’s scheduled release in January 2025.
Cast and Crew
The highly anticipated Wizard anime boasts a talented cast and staff, led by Yumiri Hanamori in the role of protagonist Akira Maki. Alongside Yumiri-san, the anime also welcomes back voice actors from the popular smartphone game.
In simpler terms, Oz is voiced by Takashi Kondo, Riquet’s role is played by Yuusuke Nagano. Arthur is voiced by Atsuhi Tamaru, with Cain being played by Daichi Kanbara. Mithra’s voice is lent by Hiroki Takahashi, and Snow is portrayed by Chihiro Suzuki. White’s character is reprised by Takuma Terashima, and Bradley’s role is played by Satoshi Hino.
Kent Ito portrays Faust, hailing from the Eastern country, while Nobuhiko Okamoto plays the role of Shino. Keisuke Komoto is the voice of Heathcliff and Noriaki Sugiyama is credited as the voice actor for Nero.
The voice of Shylock will once again be portrayed by Shinnosuke Tachibana, and Mizuki Nakamura will continue to play Murr’s character. Kohei Amasaki will also reprise his role as Chloe, and Katsuyuki Miura will lend his voice to Rustica.
The voice cast for the returning characters also features Toshiyuki Morikawa as Figaro, Ayumi Murase as Mitile, Yuichi Jose as Lennox, and Shunichi Toki as Rutile.
Naoyuki Tatsuwa is responsible for directing the Promise of Wizard anime at LIDEN FILMS, while Nanami Higuchi is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts. As mentioned earlier, Nozomi Nagamoto is recognized as the character designer and lead animation director.
Shuji Katayama has been added to the team at Pony Canyon Productions as the music composer for this anime, alongside Ryo Tanaka as the sound director. Akira Hashigami serves as the color designer, and Minami Kasuga is responsible for background art.
The Plot of the Wizard Anime Series
The anime Promise of Wizard is inspired by Cole’s popular smartphone game of the same name, which takes place in a world where both regular people and wizards inhabit. One fateful full moon night, Akira Maki, who had been leading a dull existence, finds themselves lost in this fantastical realm.
Akira soon learns that the world is comprised of five countries, each of which is home to a wise wizard. Every year, these wizards come together to battle against a colossal moon known as the Great Calamity. To Akira’s surprise, he discovers that he has been summoned to this world as a Sage from a distant land, tasked with aiding these powerful wizards in their fight.
