One of the signs prominently displayed reads: “Keep Christ in Christmas! We protest the satanic Santa Terrifier 3 movie showing here,” indicating that the film’s use of Santa Claus imagery is a significant source of disagreement for these demonstrators.
Accompanying the photo, Thornton simply remarked: “We’re doing something right!”
For fans familiar with the uproar that accompanied the release of 1984’s Silent Night, Deadly Night, this situation may feel strikingly reminiscent. When that Christmas-themed horror flick hit theaters, it sparked mass protest activities that resulted in the movie being withdrawn from distribution.
