PSN Outage Disrupts EA FC 25 Squad Battles, Rivals, and Champs Gameplay

PlayStation users have faced significant challenges in accessing EA FC 25 Ultimate Team due to an ongoing PSN outage, creating a competitive edge for Xbox players in the game’s online modes.

The Ultimate Team mode demands a routine weekly commitment, as players engage in both Squad Battles and Division Rivals to accumulate valuable rewards. Notably, October 4 marks the commencement of the first FUT Champions of the season, presenting additional opportunities for earning packs.

The most dedicated gamers strive to complete matches across all modes; however, the PSN outage that began on September 30 has disrupted the progress of numerous players.

Squad Battles has been particularly affected, as the rewards earned by players are influenced by community participation. During weeks with high engagement, the points required for each rank increase, while they decrease during slower periods.

As PlayStation players face extended downtime, Xbox users have seized the opportunity to complete their matches and climb the ranks. Consequently, when PS5 and PS4 players return, they may find that the points required for advancement have substantially increased.

Some users have reported being kicked out of a Squad Battles match during gameplay, resulting in a loss, which counts against their 15 weekly matches and further benefits Xbox and PC players.

“They kicked me out during Squad Battles so now my rank for the week is ruined since we barely have any games to play each week,” expressed Big-Discipline on Reddit.

Division Rivals has also suffered; many players have struggled to earn the necessary 45 points for top rewards, with the outage resulting in lost matches and valuable game time.

“I was 88 minutes in and 2 goals up in Rivals… ahhh ffs,” lamented another frustrated player. “It’s hard enough to get 15 wins without this happening.”

To qualify for the Weekend League, players need three wins, and losing due to disconnection has jeopardized their chances.

“I was up 2-0 in a Champs game that would have given me my third win had I finished,” mentioned another Reddit user. “Now I’m going to choke the last game, I just know it.”

Reports indicate that PSN is gradually coming back online after several hours; however, for many players of EA FC 25, the impact may already be irreversible.
