Last year, the Ohio State Buckeyes ranked second in the nation for lowest points allowed per game (11.23), coming in just behind their rival team Michigan. However, with the departure of Kris Jenkins and Mike Sainristil to the professional league, Ohio State has claimed the top spot at the start of the 2024 season.

During the previous season, Georgia’s defense proved its strength by limiting opponents to an average of 15.64 points per game, an impressive feat considering the tough competition in the SEC. As the new season begins, the Bulldogs boast the second-ranked defense in the league.
