On June 26th, the popular entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block”on tvN welcomed the renowned musician Billie Eilish as a guest. She is the first artist born in the 21st century to top the Billboard charts.
Billie Eilish expressed her excitement about appearing on “You Quiz”by saying, “I had a strong desire to come here. Since I was already in Korea, it only made sense for me to join ‘You Quiz’.”She also mentioned that she was thrilled to be able to perform on the small stage, despite only being in Korea for one day.
Jo Se-ho referred to Yoo Jae-suk as the “Korean Jimmy Fallon,”to which Billie Eilish responded, “Yes, I am aware of him. He is a well-known figure.”Jo Se-ho then inquired if the young singer remembered when BTS’s RM and J-Hope attended her concert in the front row during their visit to Korea in 2022. Billie Eilish admitted, “It was truly an honor for me. They are amazing individuals and I am a fan of theirs.”
Billie Eilish expressed her gratitude towards BLACKPINK’s Jennie for hosting her listening session by stating that it was an enjoyable experience and an honor for her. She also praised Jennie’s talent and personality, stating that she is a remarkable individual. Eilish further mentioned that she is especially grateful to have a friend like Jennie in Korea, as she does not have many friends in the country. When asked about their current communication, Eilish happily revealed that they are still in touch and she holds a deep admiration for Jennie.
At the 2020 Grammy Awards, the MCs inquired about Billie Eilish’s five award wins. She admitted that before her name was announced, she had told herself “Please don’t let it be me”. Billie Eilish also expressed her doubts about deserving the awards, saying that like many others, she had questioned her worth. Despite being grateful for the nomination, she had believed that the accolades belonged to someone else. The moment was both exhilarating and incredible.
Additionally, the young singer described how she enjoys her days by indulging in simple pleasures like sharing a delicious meal, taking a bike ride, refreshing swim in the pool, or bouncing on the trampoline during a comfortably warm spring day.
When asked about her thoughts on her future self in 10 years, Billie Eilish responded, “I am grateful for the life I am currently living. While I have goals and aspirations, I am hesitant to force myself into a rigid path. I believe in the importance of being able to freely pursue our desires and change our minds when necessary. We should not confine ourselves to our current circumstances. Even the smallest changes can greatly impact our lives.”
Finally, Billie Eilish shared her thoughts on the recording of “You Quiz,”stating, “I had such a great time.”She then jokingly commented, “Although, I can’t help but wonder why the chair was so small,”eliciting laughter from the audience.
