The Boruto sequel series, Two Blue Vortex, has successfully revived the excitement for the franchise that the previous series was unable to do. Despite being in its early stages with only a few chapters released, the manga has already taken fans and the main characters on an emotional rollercoaster.
Despite the protagonist’s return as a more powerful shinobi and Himawari awakening as the jinchuriki of the Nine-tails, among other notable events, it is clear that the series has the potential to become one of the greatest. However, one character’s lack of character development does not align with his title as the main antagonist of the series, and that character is Code.
His significance may far surpass that of anyone else, given his involvement in the creation of the Ten-Tail Sentient God Trees. It is possible that his very existence fuels these God Trees, making his demise the crucial factor in their destruction.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex: Understanding the Role of Code in the Plot
The events of Boruto Two Blue Vortex began as Code launched an attack on the Hidden Leaf Village in search of the protagonist. He had been falsely accused by Eida’s Omnipotence and had left the village. Despite searching for a prolonged period, he was unable to locate the protagonist and eventually decided to use Sarada as bait. As anticipated, the protagonist suddenly appeared.
Following a fierce confrontation between the two, the protagonist emerges victorious over the antagonist who manages to flee using his Claw Marks. However, his escape is hindered by a frog who had secretly accompanied him, serving as a spy for the protagonist and confirming the existence of the Ten-tails.
The protagonist utilized the Flying Raijin Jutsu to instantly transport himself to where the antagonist stood. However, upon his arrival, the antagonist was taken aback to find that the Ten-tails had vanished. In truth, the Ten-tails had separated into four Sentient God Trees, each possessing its own consciousness.
Despite being continuously overpowered by these divine beings and ultimately betrayed by the antagonist, the protagonist was able to use the Flying Raijin Jutsu to escape. This marked the antagonist’s final appearance in Boruto Two Blue Vortex, solidifying his image as a weak antagonist thus far.
However, this has always been his nature since the beginning of the series. Unlike Isshiki or Momoshiki, he is not a true Otsutsuki and his abilities are not as vast as those of other members of the clan. Despite this, the antagonist still holds a significant role in the overall plot of the series.
According to Jura’s explanation, the Sentient God Trees were born once they were awoken. This awakening was granted by the antagonist, who may have done so instinctively without realizing it. Therefore, the antagonist is a crucial factor in the existence of these God Trees.
To defeat the God Trees and potentially revert them to their Ten-Tails Beast form, the protagonist may have to eliminate Code, as his Claw Marks were the catalyst for the Sentient God Trees’ awakening. This could be Code’s role in the plot, despite being considered one of the least formidable antagonists in the story.
