Concerns Over Chain Lightning Sorcerer Changes in Diablo 4

Feedback from players on the Season 5 PTR has led many to believe that the upcoming changes to the Chain Lightning Sorcerer in Diablo 4 will result in its death upon arrival, earning it the acronym “DOA.”

Despite numerous balance updates, Sorcerer players in Diablo 4 have still expressed disappointment over the lack of significant buffs for the class.

Despite the hopes of many, the addition of the Chain Lightning-centric Axial Conduit pants did not alleviate the issues players were experiencing in the Season 5 PTR. The Unique item promised massive amounts of Lightning damage from an exploding bolt, but this did not prove to be the solution players were looking for.

However, the opinions of players who have participated in the PTR have led some Sorcerer mains to believe that the upcoming changes will be poorly received upon release.

In a video titled “My disappointment is immeasurable,”content creator Lurkin shared their thoughts on the Axial Conduit pants in Diablo 4.

The YouTuber advises players to be prepared for a new “Sorc struggle”as the main source of damage output for the pants is said to be Andariel’s Visage.

“According to the video description, removing Andariel’s causes a noticeable struggle and the damage does not scale effectively.”

The Chain Lightning Sorcerer build on the PTR has also received negative feedback from Diablo 4 players on Reddit, as seen in this post by Raxx.

One individual commented on a thread referencing the Lurkin footage, stating, “Blizzard, please buff Sorc in a meaningful and effective way. The new Chain Lightning unique is DOA.”

Redditor Tesdey, in agreement with the YouTuber, also expressed that the Axial Conduit Unique is only average and relies heavily on Andariel’s Visage.

It seems that the pants are also experiencing a bug, as there is an issue arising where the Chain Lightning “you invoke extra chance with”fails to rotate around the character.

Blizzard has taken into account the feedback received during the Season 4 PTR and made significant improvements in time for the full release of the season. Due to this, it is possible that the Chain Lightning Sorcerer in Season 5 may also see the benefits of this continuous refinement. However, current Sorcerer players remain doubtful.
