According to a recent report, it has been alleged that Dr Disrespect’s messages to a minor became even more extreme after he became aware of their age.
In June 2024, a former Twitch employee alleged that Dr Disrespect was banned from the platform in 2020 for sending inappropriate direct messages to a minor and attempting to arrange a meeting at TwitchCon.
After further employees corroborated the allegations, Doc himself admitted that they were accurate and that he had indeed sent inappropriate messages to a minor in 2017.
The streamer stated that the discussions “occasionally veered towards being inappropriate.”
In a lengthy post on X, he clarified that he had been involved in a civil dispute with Twitch which was resolved through a settlement after going through arbitration. He emphasized that there were no criminal charges brought against him.
Nevertheless, a recent report by esports journalist ‘Slasher’ has contested Dr Disrespect’s version of the events.
Dr Disrespect was banned in 2020 after sending DMs to a minor.
Slasher’s report reveals that Dr Disrespect was aware that he was conversing with a minor and that his discussions with her became increasingly explicit upon discovering her age.
According to a former Twitch trust and safety employee, Dr Disrespect was informed by the individual that they were underage during their conversation. Despite being aware of this, Dr Disrespect continued to engage in sexually explicit messages without any confusion. The messages sent after this acknowledgement were just as graphic and inappropriate as before, and may even go beyond the categorization of being “inappropriate.”
According to the report, Twitch established an incident response team called ‘Gold Sparrow’ in response to multiple streamers being accused of sexual misconduct in 2020. The team’s purpose is to investigate these allegations and take appropriate measures.
“Upon reviewing the contents of the Whisper conversation, it was immediately evident to the former employee the severity of the conduct and the necessary actions for Twitch to take. As the conduct was deemed highly egregious, the decision to permanently terminate Beahm was promptly made.”
