FromSoftware is contemplating the addition of another Network Test for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign following a first session marred by significant server complications.

During the initial Network Test, a substantial number of players encountered login failures or experienced disruptive disconnects that returned them to the title screen. While Xbox and PC users found relative ease compared to their PlayStation 5 counterparts, all platforms faced challenges throughout the event.

Notably, many streamers and content creators struggled with access issues during live broadcasts, which hindered their ability to showcase the game to their audiences and left viewers disappointed.

Though a handful of players managed to participate, their experience was far from comprehensive. Numerous testers, despite having received access codes, could only explore the game’s hub or training area, the Roundtable Hold, without engaging in any battles.

Server Issues Persisted Throughout the Session

Midway through the trial, FromSoftware paused the session to conduct server maintenance. Unfortunately, even after the maintenance was completed, many players still faced difficulties in accessing the test or making matches.

Some gamers speculated that an extension of the session may occur, but the Network Test concluded as planned at 3 PM GMT, leaving many still unable to join.

Given the extent of these technical challenges, the developers are actively considering scheduling an additional Network Test session to compensate for the first installment. With most players unable to engage in combat – either due to access issues or maintenance interruptions – a follow-up test seems essential.

On their official X (Twitter) account, the developers acknowledged the disruptions, stating, “The first session of the #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN Network Test has ended.” They expressed regret over the server-related inconveniences and confirmed that stability improvements are underway.

Original Schedule of the Network Test

The initial Network Test was planned as follows:

  • February 14: 11:00-14:00 GMT
  • February 15: 03:00-06:00 GMT
  • February 15: 19:00-22:00 GMT
  • February 16: 11:00-14:00 GMT
  • February 17: 03:00-06:00 GMT

There is potential for an additional session to be inserted into the schedule, particularly between February 15 tests. However, it appears unlikely that a new session will be introduced before the first test on that date.

We’ll keep players informed regarding any updates on a possible new Network Test for Elden Ring Nightreign.
