As the inaugural race of the 2024 Formula 1 season approaches, the off-season has been anything but smooth, marked by a series of unexpected developments.

Notable news includes Lewis Hamilton’s impending 2025 transition to Ferrari, ongoing controversies surrounding Sauber’s partnership with Stake, and the scrutiny faced by Red Bull’s Christian Horner. With the Bahrain Grand Prix set for next Sunday, all eyes are shifting back to the track.

Track Issues Disrupt Testing

Currently, testing is underway in Bahrain, but the last few days have been marred by track complications.

On Thursday, a drain cover became dislodged, prompting a red flag after Hamilton ran over it. Although the problem was initially thought to be corrected, it recurred during Friday’s practice sessions. A similar incident occurred after Red Bull driver Sergio Perez hit a curb at Turn 11, displacing the cover once more.

Testing resumed on the third day with the issue seemingly resolved, allowing teams to focus on performance. Throughout the initial two days of testing, Red Bull consistently posted the fastest lap times, with notable performances from Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz.
