Fan-favorite Jujutsu Kaisen villain was actually based on Jason Statham

Inspiration can come from various sources, and it just so happens that a specific antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen was influenced by the famous action movie star, Jason Statham.

Despite being a minor character in the story, Toji Fushiguro has left a lasting impression among the many memorable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, alongside fan-favorites like Satoru Gojo and Sukuna, the King of Curses.

Toji, a former rival of Gojo, repeatedly challenged the sorcerer but was unsuccessful in defeating the Jujutsu master. Despite his failures, fans grew to admire the sorcerer killer. Creator Gege Akutami has even shared that Toji was inspired by popular action movie star Jason Statham.

A Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition is currently taking place in Tokyo. Along with being part of various franchises, Statham is also well-known for his roles in the Fast and Furious movies, The Expendables, The Transporter, and many others. He is a true big screen hero, with the physicality to match.

Toji exudes an attractive muscular physique, and when standing next to his brother there is a noticeable similarity in their physical build. They both possess a certain self-assurance, although Toji’s was not shaped by his upbringing in the working class of England.

The fans were a bit surprised. One comment remarked, “It seems this man has inspired the entire world to strive for Jason Statham’s level of fitness.”
