On the 27th, Tao used a social networking service to conduct a live broadcast, during which he interacted with fans and spent time communicating with them.
During the broadcast, a fan questioned Tao about his refusal to address the dating rumors. In response, Tao questioned if it was necessary for celebrities to reveal every aspect of their personal lives. He further explained that everyone has their own unique way of living and that it is not for anyone to judge.
Tao stressed the importance of privacy in relationships, stating that he believes dating should be kept between the involved parties. He also noted that it is appropriate to offer congratulations if someone publicly acknowledges their relationship, but it is also acceptable if they prefer to keep it private.
In the meantime, it has been reported that Tao and former SM Rookies trainee Shi Yang have been rumored to be dating since 2020. There were multiple instances last year of them being seen entering a house together or going on dates.
Earlier this year, China Express, a Chinese media outlet, revealed that Tao and Shi Yang had visited Korea. During their visit, Tao publicly declared his love for Shi Yang at a nightclub in Gangnam, Seoul, which led to speculations of marriage. Of particular interest was Tao’s gesture of writing ‘Love u Yi YANG’ on a large screen.
In 2012, Tao made his debut with EXO-M and departed from the group in 2015 due to an ongoing legal battle with SM Entertainment regarding his exclusive contract. Since then, he has been actively involved in the entertainment industry in China.
