A video featuring Lee Joo-yeon was uploaded on the YouTube channel “No Back Tak Jae-hoon”on June 26th.
In the video, Lee Joo-yeon was asked if she felt overshadowed by Uee after joining After School. She confidently replied, “No, although Uee was more widely known, I had a strong fan base that may not have been as visible.”
“Lee Joo-yeon revealed, “I graduated from Dongduk Women’s University before joining After School. Despite my departure, I have maintained a good relationship with the members. Some of the older ones have become mothers and the younger ones are thriving. Currently, I have been busy filming a movie called ‘Kimchi’ where I portray a photographer. The movie has yet to be released.”
“She surprised viewers by revealing that she had appeared in the movie ‘The King’ as the video protagonist alongside senior actor Jo In-sung. The scene was composited, with the actors filming separately.”
She confessed to experiencing stage fright during variety shows, explaining, “There have been instances where my mind went blank and I made mistakes. I can’t recall much from those moments, not even the criticisms.”
Lee Joo-yeon expressed that she now prefers to be told she looks young rather than being called pretty. She often visits jjimjilbang (Korean dry sauna) by herself. During one visit, an older woman commented on how young people these days have great figures. In response, Lee Joo-yeon told the woman that she herself is actually quite old.
During a meal, she shared a story about an interaction with a shaman. She explained that she was sitting next to someone she knew who was eating with a shaman. The shaman stared at her intently, and she maintained eye contact. The shaman then told her, “You have the potential to play a ‘crazy X’ character. You would excel in villainous roles.”
Lee Joo-yeon discussed her dating rumors, stating that her natural talent lies in the ability to charm men. She emphasized her dedication to both her professional and personal life, disregarding the opinions of others. As she has grown older, her priorities have shifted and she now desires to find a loving partner and settle down. She expressed her preference for a physically fit and kind man, as she herself takes care of her own physical health. Additionally, she revealed her desire for a large living space, as she enjoys everything to be on a grand scale. She also acknowledged the importance of physical appearance in a potential partner.
She stated, “While work used to be my main focus, my priority has shifted and love is now my number one. Once everything else is in order, I will pursue love.”
