House of the Dragon Fans Criticize Decision to Skip Key Greens Moment

The second season of House of the Dragon is providing fans with plenty to think about, but some are still struggling to come to terms with the aftermath of a significant death in the first season.

Despite only two episodes having aired, House of the Dragon Season 2 is already packed with intense storylines. From the complicated dynamic between Blood and Cheese, to the tumultuous relationship of Alicent and Criston, and the epic battle between twin brothers Arryk and Erryk, the season is off to an explosive start.

Despite the overwhelming amount of details to remember, some viewers continue to be impacted by a particular event that occurred in Season 1 of House of the Dragon. The brutal demise of Lucerys, who perished at the hands of Aemond and Vhagar as he fought for control of Arrax high in the sky during the season finale, remains etched in the minds of many.

Despite two years having passed, fans continue to believe that House of the Dragon is showing bias towards the Blacks by not depicting the Greens’ reaction.

“Aside from the storytelling aspect, this moment seems incredibly intriguing for the overall dynamic within the Greens. How did Aemond respond to it? Was he surprised?”

“Who would have been the most vocal? I can’t understand why they would pass up such an opportunity. I would have much rather seen these types of scenes than another argument between Ali and Cole.”

Another person added their opinion, saying, “I completely agree. The showrunners made a major mistake by skipping over the aftermath of Luke’s death.”

“I concurred that the omission was perplexing. Portraying the effect on Aemond’s psyche, given that it was unintentional, could have been a valuable opportunity to explore. It also would have added more layers to the character of Aegon,”another person added in agreement.

Despite the airing of Season 2 Episode 2 last week, House of the Dragon viewers continue to criticize the show for allegedly “manipulating”storylines in favor of Team Black.

Alicent has taken on the role of portraying the Greens as the “villains”of the season, as her romantic scenes with Christon have been deemed as “pointless.”Additionally, she has faced backlash for making the Blood and Cheese subplot revolve around her.

Conversely, for those without a strong loyalty to Team Green, the emotional intensity is increasing. Helaena is grieving the loss of her youngest son, and the emotional impact of his funeral in Episode 2 is tugging at the heartstrings and evoking memories of Lucerys from Season 1 for fans.

One fan remarked, “It was strange how effectively they portrayed the aftermath of Jahaerys’ death.”

Simultaneously, it seems that the season is leading towards Rhaenyra’s conquest of Kings Landing, which could account for the heightened emotional tone.

The second season of House of the Dragon is currently airing on HBO. Additionally, there are several other new TV shows available for streaming this month.
