During a live broadcast on June 25, popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat decided to unfollow Dr Disrespect after the latter admitted to sending messages to a minor back in 2017.
In 2020, Twitch permanently banned Dr Disrespect without providing a public explanation, causing confusion and leaving viewers and fellow streamers eagerly anticipating an explanation.
The revelation of an ex-Twitch employee’s allegations, made four years later, shed light on a male streamer who had allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior with a minor using the platform’s Whisper function. These accusations were eventually linked to Dr Disrespect.
On June 25, the Doc confirmed that he had engaged in conversations with an underage individual through Twitch Whispers. However, he stated that the conversations were simply casual and mutual, occasionally becoming too inappropriate. He also acknowledged that this was the cause of his permanent ban from Twitch.

Kai Cenat was shocked when he heard the news and immediately paused his Elden Ring DLC stream to react. He couldn’t believe that one of the biggest names in the streaming world had publicly confessed to messaging a minor.
“What the hell?”he exclaimed, stepping away from his own live stream to perch on a chair (which happened to be a carefully crafted replica of the Iron Throne). He promptly Googled to verify the Doc’s age – 42 years old – before continuing.
“Age doesn’t matter, bro,”Kai exclaimed. “What the hell? A minor?”

Upon finishing the rest of the Doc’s statement, Kai was left in shock and quietly covered his mouth. He then proceeded to unfollow the streamer on his X profile.
“Boy, you should take that break,”Kai said. “Go live your own life and do your own thing.”
After a fan inquired about why he had unfollowed Dr Disrespect, Kai acknowledged that he has had to unfollow many individuals in his life.

Despite taking an “extended vacation”with his family, Dir Disrespect has assured his fans that he will resume broadcasting after his break and maintains his innocence, stating that he has never faced any criminal charges.
Kai is simply the most recent prominent streamer to respond to the news regarding Doc, following speculation from Ninja that a major event must have occurred for him to be released from his own game studio.
“They conducted their own thorough investigation behind the scenes and uncovered sufficient evidence to terminate his employment with the company. This was not a case of placing him on administrative leave or postponing the issue for later. Clearly, they discovered significant evidence to support their decision.”
Due to the news, Dr Disrespect has officially ended his partnership with game studio Midnight Society. Additionally, Turtle Beach has terminated their collaboration with the streamer, who has decided to take a step back from the public eye after releasing his recent statement.
