KARA Announces Their Much-Anticipated Return & Fans Are Gushing: ‘The Queens Are Back!’

The iconic girl group KARA, known for their hit song “Pretty Girls”, is making their highly anticipated comeback to the K-pop industry.

Following a 2-year break, the group is set to make a complete return on THIS date.

On June 27, KARA caused a stir on the internet when they announced the release of their new digital single, “I DO I DO,”on July 24!

KARA and their fandom KAMILIA ushered in a new music era on the same day as they unveiled their new water-shaped and transparent logo floating on the horizon on their official social media platforms.

KARA sparked fans’ curiosity even further by including the line, “I’ll make you happy,”alongside their logo.

As reported by South Korean media, the logo represents the “blue delphinium,”a summer-blooming flower.

Similar to the message conveyed through their flower language, “I’ll make you happy,”KARA is setting high anticipations for the type of enchanting tale they will flawlessly tell this summer.

After the announcement, KARA quickly gained the attention of K-pop fans, who warmly embraced the return of the five-member group.

On X, KARA has been receiving enthusiastic reviews.

  • “KARA are becoming ‘Summer Queens’ again. We are so back!”
  • “One of the best decisions that was made for K-pop was KARA coming back.”
  • QUEENS ON THE LINE!”
  • “KARA! Welcome back, queens! K-pop world healed, earth greener, birds chirping, sky clear blue, etc.”

During this time, KARA will be reuniting as a full group for the first time in 1 year and 8 months, following the release of their special album, “MOVE AGAIN,”in November 2022 to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary.

Upon rejoining the group, former members Nicole and Jiyoung announced the implementation of a new five-member system.

Upon their return, the group displayed their enduring strength and impact as icons of the second generation by dominating the highest positions on prominent music charts in their home country and securing victories on popular music shows with their hit single, “When I Move.”

This achievement solidified KARA as the first second-generation girl group to win first-place trophies on music shows in the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, further demonstrating their enduring relevance even in the face of newer girl groups.

During that year, the quintet also made a special appearance on TV Asahi’s “Music Station X-Mas Super Live,”Japan’s most prestigious music program. This further showcased their prominent position in the Japanese market.

In 2023, they successfully organized fan meetings in Seoul and three cities in Japan, where they were able to personally meet and interact with KAMILIAs. The events were immensely popular, with tickets selling out immediately upon their release.

This further solidified their enduring title as the “Hallyu Queen”even after twenty years.

KARA, who gained a loyal fanbase and widespread recognition over the span of 17 years since their debut in 2007, is now gearing up to showcase their influence once more through their upcoming full-length concert, “KARASIA,”in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. The highly-anticipated event is set to take place in August.
