The opening of My Hero Academia chapter 427, titled ‘Who was Tomura Shigaraki?,’ featured a television program highlighting the notorious villain Shigaraki Tomura. During the program, citizens shared their opinions on the destructive actions of the villain, resulting in only negative comments.

The program also demonstrated that the reconstruction was progressing smoothly. However, there were still various areas that had not yet been reached by the restoration efforts, indicating the vast extent of the destruction.

In My Hero Academia chapter 427, the focus shifted to Deku and Spinner. The doctor revealed that the quirks given to Spinner by AFO were transforming him into a Nomu, but thanks to their previous research, they were able to prevent it from happening. Immediately after, Spinner accused Deku of being a “murderer”and questioned his reason for visiting him.

In reply, Deku disclosed his desire to relay Shigaraki’s last words to Spinner.

Spinner received Tomura Shigaraki’s message.

“Even to the bitter end, Tomura Shigaraki…kept fighting to destroy.”

Spinner was perplexed by the fact that the message was addressed solely to him and not to his fellow members of the League of Villains, such as Dabi, Toga, or Compress.

Despite this, Spinner was still deeply affected by this gesture and expressed how Shigaraki was his source of hope. However, as he continued to despair, his Body Bulk Quirk became more and more activated, allowing him to stand strong against the ninth OFA user. Although the doctor wanted to intervene, Deku requested that he stay back.

After that, Spinner expressed his admiration for Shigaraki Tomura and embraced Deku. He revealed that Shigaraki had been his first friend and that they both shared a love for the same video games that he used to play while isolating himself. Deku was convinced that Shigaraki held the same affection for him as he did for the League of Villains. These words deeply affected Spinner, as he regretted not being able to protect his friend/hero in the past.

This is due to the fact that these emotions have the potential to give rise to other villains similar to him.

Shortly after, in My Hero Academia chapter 427, Deku departed from Spinner’s room. In the midst of their conversation, Spinner shared his aspiration to write a book about Shigaraki to ensure his past would never be forgotten. Deku proposed the idea of turning it into a comic, but then quickly retracted his statement, emphasizing that he himself could never forget Shigaraki Tomura.

Right before departing, Deku was approached by Spinner who asked him to pass along a message to Mezo Shoji, encouraging him to give his best effort.

Upon leaving Spinner, Deku reunited with All Might and Tsukauchi in the waiting room. It was there that Tsukauchi briefed him on Kai Chisaki’s situation and what had transpired. After being apprehended, Kai Chisaki had a confrontation with the former boss of the Shie Hassaikai.

As fans may recall, Kai Chisaki was highly concerned with his boss’s opinion of him. This made him anxious when he discovered that the former yakuza leader had lost trust in him. The boss showed his disappointment with Chisaki and requested that he apologize to Eri, but also never forget the harm he caused her. He was determined to make Chisaki feel the weight of his actions, even if it meant berating him until the end of his days.

Deku was relieved that Chisaki had been taken care of, but he still longed for a solution to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Tsukauchi was certain that increasing the number of heroes, possibly through Hawks’ involvement, was the only way to achieve this. However, this idea was quickly dismissed as a mere joke. Just then, All Might requested Deku’s positive attitude as the new first years were scheduled to arrive on the same day. Therefore, they should make an effort to greet them with warm and welcoming smiles.

Despite Deku’s belief that second-year students would have limited chances to interact with the first years, he was taken aback upon his return to U.A. High School. The first-year girls were actively pursuing Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki, trying to get their phone numbers. This made Minoru Mineta jealous.
