Imagine a gaming controller that not only enhances your gameplay but also monitors your heart rate in real-time. This groundbreaking innovation serves as a safeguard, especially if the in-game scares become too intense.
Fast forward to 2025, and we see a shift in gaming hardware design—moving away from subtle aesthetics to eye-catching boldness. ASUS unveiled a flashy Hatsune Miku-themed gaming PC complete with a custom RTX 5080. However, the spotlight quickly shifted when a YouTuber crafted an astonishing two-meter-tall gaming PC that showcased the virtual idol in an entirely new dimension.
As anticipated, developers began focusing on the player’s emotional and physiological responses rather than just their in-game actions. The latest advancement emphasizes the human experience, measuring not how quickly you click or react, but instead tracking your adrenaline levels during gameplay.
Anbernic Launches Innovative Heart Rate Monitoring PC Controller
Anbernic, primarily known for its budget-friendly retro handheld gaming devices, has unveiled its latest product on January 23: the RG G01 Smart Controller. This pioneering gamepad not only supports heart rate monitoring but is also designed for PC gaming.
The RG G01 Smart Controller is compatible with a variety of platforms, including PC, Steam, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Linux. It features Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, along with USB-C options and a remarkable 1000Hz polling rate for both wired and wireless operations. Additional features include anti-drift capacitive joysticks, dual-mode trigger stops optimized for racing games or first-person shooters, six-axis gyro control, macro capabilities, four customizable rear buttons, and dual asymmetric vibration motors.
One standout feature is the curved color display on the front, which enhances usability by allowing you to remap controls, set macros, and adjust settings directly on the controller. The integrated heart rate monitor is particularly innovative, providing immediate feedback during gameplay and alerting you when your pulse reaches certain thresholds.
While a release date and price have yet to be announced, this controller promises to heighten your gaming experience—whether you’re navigating the eerie landscapes of Silent Hill f, facing zombie hordes in Resident Evil Requiem, or eagerly awaiting news of a GTA 6 update.
