The anime adaptation of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is based on the South Korean webtoon of the same name, created by author Sing Shong, illustrator Sleepy-C, and UMI. Since 2020, the webtoon has been published in English on LINE manga, while the original Korean version can be found on Naver Webtoon.
Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint anime in production with announcement PV and visual
During the panel event at Anime Expo 2024, Crunchyroll announced the production of the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint anime, which is based on the eponymous webtoon by Sing Shong, Sleepy C, and UMI. The announcement took place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, when Crunchyroll was given a stage at the event.
Despite the lack of information on important details such as the release date, production studio, cast, and staff at the event, the PV still showcases some of the memorable scenes from the webtoon, including characters such as Kim Dokja, Yoo Joonghyuk, Shin Yoosung, and others.
The anime’s visuals depict the series’ lead character, Kim Dokja, alongside Yoo Joonghyuk, the protagonist of Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse. Dokja can be seen holding his phone while Joonghyuk brandishes his sword.
After the event, Aniplex released the PV on its official YouTube channel and also launched a teaser website for fans to view. Any future updates about the anime will most likely be posted on the official website.
Surprisingly, in January 2024, the famous leaker SugoiLITE revealed information about the production of the anime on X. There were speculations that Ufotable would take on the production, but the official announcement has not yet disclosed the name of the production studio.
Despite this, Aniplex has obtained the license to create the anime. Therefore, fans will need to be patient in order to find out which studio will be responsible for producing the series.
