Blizzard announced in the Season 10 patch notes for Overwatch 2 that Venture, the game’s newest hero, will be added to the Competitive roster immediately upon the release of the upcoming update. Prior to the addition of new heroes in the game, players were required to wait approximately two weeks before being able to use them in ranked matches. These heroes were initially only available in Casual play and could only be unlocked through the Battle Pass, a requirement that has remained since the transition to Overwatch 2.
As specified in a recent developer update, this will no longer be the case in Season 10 and beyond, as new heroes such as Venture will be accessible to all players.
