With an abundance of anime announcements at Anime Expo 2024, fans of webtoons can rejoice as the highly praised webtoon ‘Omniscient Readers Viewpoint’ has officially been confirmed to receive an anime adaptation. Although rumors about the adaptation have been circulating for some time, it was not until July 6 at Crunchyroll’s Industry Panel at Anime Expo 2024 when an official announcement was made.
According to the original South Korean web novel written by Sing Shong, the series was published on Munpia, the largest Korean web novel platform, from 6 January 2018 to 2 February 2020. It was then transformed into a webtoon by Naver Webtoon and illustrated by Sleepy-C (Redice Studio).
Aniplex has announced that they will be producing the anime called ‘Zenchi-teki na Dokusha no Shiten Kara’. Although Crunchyroll has not yet revealed the studio or release date, they have confirmed that they will be streaming the anime in the future. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the visual and teaser for the series.

On July 7, 2024, both Crunchyroll and Aniplex shared a brief teaser of the upcoming ‘Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint’ anime on their official YouTube channels. The 36-second clip offers a glimpse into the thrilling plot by revealing significant scenes from the manhwa.
The recently revealed panels feature Kim Dokja, who is engrossed in reading the novel ‘Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse,’ a few stunning panels of the main character, Yoo Joonghyuk, and a thrilling confrontation between the two, concluding with a shot of all the key characters who will have a significant impact on the storyline. Fans can anticipate an incredible anime adaptation of their beloved webtoon.
Plot of the Anime
For the past decade, Kim Dokja has led a monotonous life as an ordinary office employee whose only hobby is reading the web novel ‘Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World.’ He has been the sole reader of this novel for ten years, and has reached its final chapter, 3149.
After finally finishing the last chapter, he receives a strange text from the author who thanks him for bringing the story to life. In addition, the author sends Dokja a gift as a token of gratitude and informs him of the process for monetizing the novel. Shortly after, the web novel is removed and the events from the story start to unfold in reality with the emergence of a creature known as ‘Dokkaebi’.
In order to survive the different scenarios and alter the outcome, Kim Dokja must rely on his knowledge from the novel and work together with his loyal allies.
Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk, the main characters of the web novel, would need to collaborate and reconcile their differences in order to successfully rescue the world.

Despite the sudden transition of the novel into reality, Dokja is the sole individual possessing unique knowledge of this apocalyptic world. With his understanding of the story’s conclusion, he has the highest likelihood of surviving.
