Defeating Midra, one of the ten formidable Remembrance bosses, is crucial in unlocking powerful weapons and spells. Be ready for a challenging battle, as Midra’s abilities can cause madness, resulting in significant damage. A swift victory is necessary to avoid his devastating attacks.
1. Boss Location
The path to Midra is arduous and time-consuming, involving traversing the treacherous Abyssal Woods. The lair of the boss can be found in the Midra’s Manse dungeon, which is situated in the southwest portion of the Abyssal Woods.
To access the Abyssal Woods, begin at the Main Promenade in Shadow Keep and scale the bridge alongside Shadow Militiamen. Then, on the right, descend a ladder to discover a stone coffin. This will transport you to the Recluses’ River Upstream, where you will need to navigate down rocks and cliffs to reach the Darklight Catacomb. Once there, you must defeat Jori, Elder Inquisitor, in order to gain entry to the Abyssal Woods.
Head south, avoiding the hostile Madness foes, until you spot Midra’s Manse. Once inside, go to the left and locate a gilded painting that conceals a hidden pathway to a decrepit library.
Explore the library until you find the Midra’s Library Site of Grace, where you will come across a painting of Midra and Nanaya. Interact with the painting to uncover a secret passageway that will lead you to the Second Floor Chamber Site of Grace. Follow the eerie screams of Midra to guide you to the boss room.
Preparing For Battle
In preparation for the battle against Midra, it is crucial to strengthen your character by venturing through the Land of Shadow and collecting Scadutree Fragments. These fragments will greatly bolster your defenses, increasing your ability to withstand the formidable enemies in Shadow of the Erdtree. Activating more Scadutree Blessings will make the fight much more manageable.
- Prioritize upgrading your Scadutree Blessing to at least level 10.
- To optimize damage output against Midra, utilize weapons or abilities that possess Holy damage, such as Miquella’s or Fundamentalist spells, as they have shown to be effective.
- Avoid relying on Fire damage, as the boss possesses high resistance to it.

- Flame Strands: Upon entering the boss arena, Midra conjures fiery strands that possess deadly capabilities. To avoid this attack, quickly roll back multiple times.
- Sword Combos: Midra executes swift and consecutive strikes, including slashes and thrusts. To evade these attacks, move to either side. Once the combo concludes, take advantage of the short interval to retaliate.
- Frenzied Flames: Midra casts bursts of fiery magic, scorching the ground. Swiftly move forward to evade each blast as it erupts.
- Plunging Fire: Midra dives towards her target with a sharp attack, unleashing a fiery explosion of thorns. Sidestep to avoid the first strike, then retreat towards Midra to evade the following burst of flames.
- Flame Explosion: Midra conjures a fireball in the shape of his head, gradually lowering it before triggering an explosion. Make sure to escape from its destructive force. Rewards For Defeating Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame
Defeating Midra, the Lord of Frenzied Flame, will grant you 410,000 runes and Remembrance of the Lord of Frenzied Flame, which you can trade with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold for either the Greatsword of Damnation or Midra’s Flame of Frenzy incantation.
The Golden Crux skill of The Greatsword of Damnation, a potent weapon that increases in effectiveness with Strength and Faith, is highly effective in dealing heavy damage, making it a valuable asset in PvP battles.
At the same time, Midra’s Flame of Frenzy, a powerful Incantation requiring a high level of Faith, releases a focused onslaught of Frenzied Flame damage, accurately replicating the intense strikes from the boss encounter.
Both options are formidable, however, the Greatsword reigns supreme due to its lower stat prerequisites and ability to inflict both physical and holy damage. In contrast, the Incantation demands a high level of faith and may not be effective against all foes.
Although both are valuable, it is advisable to keep them rather than using the Remembrance to obtain runes, as this would only result in a minimal amount (30,000).
