The Bear Season 3 Causes Controversy with High Rotten Tomatoes Rating

Critics have praised The Bear Season 3, noting its continuation of the success of its predecessors with a new, impressive Rotten Tomatoes score. However, fans remain uncertain.

The Bear has received widespread critical acclaim since its debut in 2022, subsequently winning numerous awards at the Emmys and Golden Globes. Its second season garnered even more praise, with many declaring it the top television series of 2023.

Season 3 has finally made its debut this week, picking up with Carmy and her friends as they navigate the aftermath of the restaurant’s opening. Over the course of 10 tense and emotional episodes (featuring a plethora of new guest stars), we witness the team’s strenuous attempts to take The Bear’s culinary experience to the next level, which often leads to overwhelming stress and constant worry.

The overall reception of the show has been largely positive, as evidenced by our four-star review. It comes as no surprise then, that the show has achieved a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it’s worth noting that this score may not accurately reflect the sentiments of all viewers, as there are some who have praised the new season while also acknowledging some criticisms shared by fans.

The Guardian pointed out the “circular”nature of the season, which can be frustrating as it hinders the development of a compelling storyline. The season needs to progress in order to maintain the audience’s interest.

Variety also highlighted the finale, noting how it “gives plenty of focus”to one-time guest stars, resulting in the main characters receiving less attention. This is a crucial time for the show to set up for the next season or wrap up loose ends from the current one.

The show’s subreddit has also echoed this sentiment, with one viewer suggesting that Season 3 should have been titled “Part 1.”They shared, “If you know you’re not going to resolve any of the plot threads you introduced, you really need to indicate that beforehand.”

Despite not wanting to reveal any spoilers, the third season concludes with a cliffhanger, leaving the fate of Carmy, Sydney, and Richie unresolved.

In addition, a fan suggested that the show should have followed the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul model by splitting its seasons. They proposed, “Seasons 3A and 3B, just like other shows have done in the past.”

According to them, the season was fantastic and will continue to improve once all the loose narrative threads are resolved. However, it was clear that this was not a standalone idea, as evidenced by the “to be continued”at the end.

“While it may be considered a filler season, it is still a fantastic one. If this was communicated from the beginning, I believe it would be easier to fully appreciate its purpose.”Another individual expressed.
