The Controversy Surrounding Shiny Egg Hunting at Go Fest

Pokemon Go Fest 2024 attendees who have purchased tickets will receive an exclusive early access perk, with a greater likelihood of encountering some of the most elusive shiny Pokemon from 7km Eggs. However, some previous incidents have caused players to express concerns about this bonus.

The increased chances of obtaining shiny featured Pokemon, such as Jangmo-o, Larvesta, Rockruff, Corsola, and Maractus from 7km Eggs will continue until the start of Go Fest Global on Sunday, July 14 at 10 AM local time. This event will run until that date.

Despite the initial excitement about the early access bonus, the community has been concerned about the mention of an “increased chance”for the Egg’s shiny odds in the event. In fact, one user even took to Reddit to express their concerns.

The increased chances of hatching shiny Pokemon from Eggs have sparked controversy, as many players struggle to obtain the desired shiny Pokemon. This frustration is amplified when fans purchase Egg Incubators from the in-game Shop, only to have their efforts go unrewarded.

The comment of “Increase chances by 0.000001%”from a trainer elicited a sarcastic joke, while others expressed their dislike for 7km Eggs. The “increased chance”terminology used in the official blog also brought back memories of the Scorching Steps event in June for many players.

Despite the expectation of increased chances during the event, few were able to catch the elusive Shiny Larvesta. In fact, one person even expressed frustration with the situation by stating, “After the Larvesta fiasco, I am choosing to relax.”However, it should be noted that Larvesta is not the only species that has caused frustration, as others have also reported difficulties finding another popular Pokémon.

“Unfortunately, this issue can be traced back to the Deino disaster from years ago. I cannot recall the exact odds of encountering a Deino, let alone a shiny one, but they were incredibly low,”a player stated. “Despite this, the company has persisted in hosting egg events, and players continue to be lured in.”

Although this bonus is only available to ticket holders, you can still search for these special Pokemon without purchasing a ticket during Pokemon Go Fest Global. And if you happen to miss out on a rare one, such as the shiny Jangmo-o, you can always catch it during its eventual Community Day event.
