Are you another Tarnished, lost in the uncharted territories of the Shadow Realm? If so, you’ve come to the perfect place to find your way to the Rauh Ruins.
To fully experience the Ancient Ruins of Rauh in Elden Ring, it is recommended that your character is at least level 150. Within these ruins, players can discover intriguing new items, engage in challenging battles, and defeat formidable enemies in order to advance through the DLC.
Instructions for Reaching the Ancient Ruins of Rauh in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
The Ancient Ruins of Rauh, found in the northwestern region of the map, is the third main area in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
The Ancient Ruins can be reached by following the path from the Shadow Keep’s Specimen Storehouse, crossing a Greatbridge, and taking an elevator up to the Viaduct Minor Tower. This tower serves as a direct route to the ruins.
To begin your journey at the Shadow Keep, make your way to the Main Gate Plaza and enter through the open door on the left. As you move through the armory, continue up the stairs on the opposite side. Eventually, you will come across platforms that are being guarded by Messmer Soldiers.
You have the option to either avoid or engage with the enemies that you will come across on your journey. Proceed to the next platform in order to reach a dining room where two Black Knights are waiting. Exit through the rear door that leads to a long rampart with burning boats. Be cautious of hidden militiamen enemies lying in wait.
As you make your way towards the stairs directly ahead, you will come across a Messmer Knight. Beyond him lies an elevator that will bring you directly to the Specimen Storehouse in the Shadow Keep.
Take the left path to reach another elevator that will take you downstairs. Upon exiting the elevator, turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach a room with a set of stairs on the left.
As you continue on, be prepared to encounter even more fleshy creatures resembling the innards of the jar warriors. Once you enter the large holding room through the left door, you will find it occupied by numerous jar warriors who will attempt to jump-tackle you.
To access the adjacent room, head towards the door on the right side and enter. Once inside, you will see a set of stairs on either side. Below, you will encounter more miniature soldiers in jars, and beyond them lies a new location known as the West Rampart.
Directly opposite this location, you will come across a large gate and a smaller door positioned next to it. To reach the Rauh Greatbridge, simply pass through the door on the right. It is recommended to use Torrent and ride across the bridge, as there will be a group of bats and a unique Messmer Knight waiting at the other end of the bridge.
To reach the Viaduct Minor Tower site of grace, enter the room to the player’s right and take the stairs to an elevator.
There you have it, Tarnished. The Ancient Ruins of Rauh lie directly in front of you.
Getting the Map for the Ancient Ruins of Rauh
In essence, the Rauh Ruins consist of two separate sections – the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, mentioned previously, and the Rauh Base. The Rauh Base is the location where the map fragment for the Rauh Ruins can be found.
Begin your journey at the Grace Moorth Ruins Site and continue along the path that heads north towards the lake as shown on the map.
You will come across a golden statue at the entrance of a cave, making it easily noticeable. Navigate through the cave and continue past the golden tree. To move forward, you must traverse a poison swamp, which can be found through a right turn from the opening.
To the east side of this swamp is where the Rauh Base can be found.
Ride down the hill and pass by the two giants until you reach the bottom. Once you arrive at the end, you will come across the ruins where the stone pillar containing the map fragment can be found.
