“Young K, I heard that you earn one of the highest royalties from your copyrighted works compared to others in the industry.”This statement was underscored by a visual on screen that boldly stated, “Young K Earns More Royalties than G-DRAGON and ZICO.”

When probed about his earnings, Young K humbly responded, “I’m not at the top yet. I’m not No. 1 in Korea or anything. But I’ll keep working hard to make that true.”

During the show, the band’s creative process was explored in detail, uncovering the fact that all members of DAY6 are actively involved in writing and composing their music. Young K also provided insight into his beginnings, stating:

“I’ve been writing songs since before our debut. When our agency told us I would be part of a band, they said, ‘To truly be a band, you must produce your own songs and let the world know about your band through those songs.’ It took a few years until I could properly write songs. That’s actually why our debut was delayed as well.”

Out of his many works, Young K declared ‘You Were Beautiful’ to be his highest-earning piece.

“Since its release in 2017, it has consistently ranked around the top 100 on major music charts in Korea,”he noted.

Young K reflected on the success of the girl group H1-KEY’s song ‘Rose Blossom’, which he also mentioned as a significant source of income.

“I was taken aback by the overwhelming love the song received, considering it was written well before I enlisted in the military in 2021. It existed before I even adopted my stage name, H1-KEY. I believe its success is attributed to the talented singers who brought it to life,”he explained with a wide grin.
