A woman recently shared her frustration after discovering that a clip of her and her best friend enjoying ice cream, originally posted by ESPN, had been found and shared by “creeps”on TikTok.
Annie, known as ‘.anniej4‘, was at the 2024 Men’s College World Series baseball championship game with her closest companion when they decided to cool off from the hot weather by indulging in some ice cream.
Little did they know, eating the frozen treat would result in their faces being broadcasted on TV during a “20-second segment”while ESPN provided commentary.
As a result, the clip caught the attention of “the creeps of TikTok”who proceeded to compare the best friends to the popular “Hawk Tuah”girl, resulting in an overwhelming number of “absolutely repulsive”comments on the post.

“Annie expressed her frustration, stating that it is abundantly clear that the sports world is not welcoming towards women. She and her best friend were unable to simply enjoy a baseball game.”
At first, the girls were inundated with “fun texts”from friends after their TV appearance. However, the enjoyment quickly dwindled as they started receiving “disgusting”TikToks that overly sexualized the situation.
In a sequel video, Annie stitched one of the TikToks in question, displaying her ‘disgust’ towards a man’s statement of “Hawk Tuah is about to get replaced”.

Additionally, Annie displayed some of the comments that had been posted on his TikTok, despite her noting that it was ambiguous if the best friends in the original video were of legal age. A number of these comments were explicitly sexual in nature.
The author emphasized that the individuals on TikTok, not the ESPN commentators, were responsible for connecting the girls eating ice cream to the popular “Hawk Tuah”meme.
Annie expressed her frustration with the amount of screentime dedicated to her by ESPN, stating that it felt unnecessary. Despite this, her primary source of frustration remained with the creator who gained over 200,000 views for making a video about her and her friend.
The remarks and reactions stemming from that video were more detrimental than any of the statements made by the ESPN commentators.

After Annie’s multiple posts shed light on the situation, the original TikTok which compared her to the “Hawk Tuah”girl has been taken down.
Upon learning of the removal, viewers joined Annie in celebration. One person even commented, “This is such a positive development. Your response to everything has made me proud!”
Another person expressed their admiration for your assertiveness, stating, “I truly admire how you stood up for yourself! You are incredible and this should never have happened to you.”
