The recent Sakarujima update in Palworld introduced a plethora of fresh content, with one particularly formidable addition being the Oil Rig Stronghold.
The recently added raid challenges players to face seemingly unbeatable foes, and its location in the center of the ocean makes it difficult to locate. Here, you can discover the Oil Rig and learn the most effective tactics for conquering it.
How to find the Oil Rig
The Oil Rig can be found at coordinates 608, -435 on Palworld’s map, situated in the middle of the ocean. The most efficient route to reach it is by using the fast travel point on Marsh Island.
Locating the Oil Rig can be challenging due to the surrounding fog. Its visibility is limited until you approach it closely. It is essential to have a flying or swimming mount to reach the Rig, and using a swimming mount is recommended.
You can find the Oil Rig here.
If you attempt to approach the Rig using a flying mount, the anti-air lasers will swiftly shoot you out of the sky. However, if you insist on using a flying mount, the most suitable option would be the Jetragon. With its speed, you will be able to maneuver quickly and evade the anti-air lasers effectively.
How to Complete the Oil Rig
To successfully finish the Oil Rig in Palworld, one must overcome all of its adversaries. Here are a few helpful hints to remember:
- Be at least level 50
- Bring the best armor and a legendary rocket launcher.
- Utilize ranged attacks when fighting against foes.
To ensure an easier return to the Rig, the initial step should be to deactivate the gun and security towers in each section. This will keep them inactive until the siege is over, allowing for a smooth re-entry if the decision to leave is made.
The anti-air missiles should be your first priority when you land.
The ideal choice of armor for this Stronghold would be the Legendary Cold and Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor. It is also advisable to equip the Pal Metal Helmet for added defense. The Rig is home to four different types of enemies.
- The Syndicate Gunners utilize firearms as their primary means of combat.
- Syndicate Cleansers: Utilize the flamethrower.
- Syndicate Hunters: Call upon Companions.
- Syndicate Crushers: Tanks with Gatling Guns.
To clear the Rig efficiently, your top priority should be taking down the Gunners and Hunters. This is because they rely on long-range attacks and have the ability to call in additional enemies.
After taking care of the Gunners and Hunters, shift your focus to the Crushers. These enemies are highly destructive and should be prioritized over the Cleansers, as they pose a greater threat due to their proximity-based attacks.
If you find yourself needing to depart at any time, utilize the Homeworld Thundercloud to transport to your nearest base. Alternatively, you may also use Dogen’s Partner ability to exit whenever necessary or after completing the Rig.
Earning Rewards
The Oil Rig located in Palworld contains a vast treasure chest that offers a variety of items such as Training Manuals, Schematics, Ammo, Crude Oil, and Ancient Civilization Cores.
Upon looting a chest for the first time, we were fortunate enough to find both Missile Ammo and the Missile Launcher Schematic. The contents of these chests are subject to luck, so it’s not guaranteed that you’ll find these items. Additionally, only one chest will appear at a time, meaning you’ll need to search for it at one of the designated locations mentioned below.
Chest Spawn Locations
- Inside a Warehouse on the East of the Rig.
- Inside a room near a tower at the center of the Rig.
- Inside a tent on the West side of the Rig.
- Some containers are situated on the South-East of the Rig.
The chests will reappear in approximately one hour of real time, so make sure you are prepared to enter again and search for the next chest.
