Understanding the Payday 3 Solo Mode Beta

Payday 3 is primarily a multiplayer game, but some players may prefer to play alone. In this case, how can one effectively play solo?

For individuals who experienced Payday 3’s divisive release, the game’s mandatory online feature and focus on cooperative gameplay often posed challenges for solo players trying to navigate the game.

Now, Starbreeze is experimenting with a solo mode for players who prefer to play without the added excitement of dealing with other players.

How to Play Payday 3 Solo Mode

If you want to play Payday 3 alone, you can access Solo Mode by navigating to Game Modes in the main menu. This option was initially introduced in the Boys in Blue update and is currently undergoing testing.

According to the Boys in Blue update patch notes, Solo Mode is currently experiencing the following issues:

• Players can initiate a solo heist while in a co-op lobby. However, other players in the lobby will not be notified that the player is no longer available for co-op.
• The Solo Mode heists will offer twice the amount of cash rewards. This serves as an incentive for us to test the feature.
• The reward screen will show twice the number of bags actually acquired.
• The display of skill progression after a heist is not present, although XP is still being awarded. The visual aspect is not being shown.
• If a heist is not successful, a “Text Block”message will be shown instead of the infamy progression.

It is important to mention that this mode is not meant to function as a true Offline Mode. Starbreeze is actively working on creating an offline mode for future use. However, at present, players are still required to log into the Payday 3 servers before being able to access the mode.

Solo mode in Payday 3 offers a variety of gameplay elements on your personal PC or console. This may result in lower performance and potential problems during your session. However, it still includes all the same features as playing online, with the exception of other human players.

It is also advisable to carry the most effective stealth setup and determine the most profitable heists for quick earnings.
