Along with the announcement, Crunchyroll announced that Wind Breaker season 2 will be available for streaming in more than 200 countries and territories globally. The anime’s first season has been streaming on Crunchyroll weekly as it aired in Japan, and an English dub has also been produced and streamed for the series. It can be assumed that the same will be done for Wind Breaker season 2.

On April 4, 2024, the first season debuted on 28 MBS/TBS stations as part of the Super Animeism TURBO programming block. Before its official release, the series held an early screening event at Shinjuku Wald 9 on March 31, 2024, which was attended by several cast members.

The initial installment was helmed by Toshifumi Aaki and CloverWorks, with Hiroshi Seko as the series composer. Taishi Kawakami was responsible for character design, and Ryo Takahashi composed the music. The main cast of the anime includes Yuma Uchida as Haruka Sakura, Koki Uchiyama as Kyotaro Sugishita, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hayato Suo, Yuichi Nakamura as Hajime Umemiya, Ryota Suzuki as Toma Hiragi, and Shoya Chiba as Akihiko Nirei.

The second season of Wind Breaker will continue the animated adaptation of Satoru Nii’s manga series of the same name. The manga was first published in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket in January 2021 and is currently ongoing with regular releases.

In Spring 2022, Kodansha USA Publishing acquired the rights to publish the manga digitally in English. As of recently, the series has also been released in print, with a description provided by the publisher.

“An adrenaline-filled manga set in a high school for delinquents who are now heroes protecting their town. A fierce, new student arrives at the school determined to fight his way to the top and become the strongest of them all. This edgy, action-packed manga is guaranteed to excite fans of Tokyo Revengers and other stories about high school delinquents.

Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s just started at Furin High School, a school of degenerates known only for their brawling strength—strength they use to protect their town from anyone who wishes it ill. But Haruka’s not interested in being a hero or being part of any sort of team—he just wants to fight his way to the top!”
