It is therefore likely that the cocoon with a hanging arm, presented in the trailer, will open, allowing players to access the new map.

This matches previous DLC from FromSoftware where new content takes place alongside the main story rather than after it – which makes sense given Elden Ring’s different endings.

This also means that Shadow of the Erdtree is likely to introduce an adjacent and complementary ending similar to those of Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3.

Mohg is an optional boss that is accessible quite late in the game, meaning you’ll need to play a good game of Elden Ring to access the DLC.
