Ever since its debut, Queen of Tears has been dominating the K-drama world and has now solidified its spot as tvN’s most successful drama of all time.
Despite also being available on Netflix, Queen of Tears on tvN has consistently exceeded rating expectations. Each episode of this K-drama has consistently ranked at the top of cable television in Korea, and its finale has solidified its position as the most successful show in tvN’s history.
According to an article from Soompi, the finale of Queen of Tears surpassed Crash Landing on You to achieve the highest drama ratings in tvN history with a 24.850 percent rating. This overtakes the previous record of 21.683 percent set by Crash Landing on You in 2020. Known as a classic in Korean entertainment, Crash Landing on You held the top spot for years until now.
Despite being in its final week, Queen of Tears has remained in the Top 10 list on Netflix for several weeks and has accumulated a total of 75,300,000 hours viewed.

The story of Queen of Tears centers around the powerful duo of Hae-in and Hyun-woo. Hae-in, the heir of Queens Group, oversees the management of their department store. Meanwhile, her husband Hyun-woo holds a prominent position as one of the company’s leading legal advisors. However, beneath their impressive social standing lies a troubled marriage, as the couple struggles with fading love, the possibility of divorce, betrayal, and a harsh reality.
The show’s last episode was broadcasted on April 28, 2024, and its tremendous popularity prompted tvN to produce a two-episode special.
