The popular drama “Queen of Tears”was broadcasted on tvN, TVING, and Netflix from March 9th to April 28th. Throughout its run, it held the top spot in Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English) TV Series and gained worldwide attention. The final episode had an impressive average viewership of 24.9%, making it the highest-rated drama in the history of tvN.
“Despite ending a month ago, “Queen of Tears”continues to be a popular drama. It recently ranked No.10 in Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English) TV Series on June 5th and has maintained its position in the Top 10 for 13 consecutive weeks. Among all the K-dramas released on Netflix since 2023, “Queen of Tears”is the only one to have stayed in the Top 10 for such an extended period of time.”
The total number of hours that “Queen of Tears”has been viewed on Netflix has now surpassed 600 million, currently standing at around 617.8 million hours.
Despite gaining worldwide popularity, “Queen of Tears”has also developed a dedicated fan base in Japan. In fact, it was voted as the top K-drama in a survey conducted by Japanese IT news site ITmedia’s Neotorabo from May 11th to 18th. This survey was exclusively for Japanese participants and each person was only allowed one vote.
The enduring popularity of “Queen of Tears”remains strong in Korea. In a recent survey conducted by Gallup Korea from May 21st to 23rd, 1001 Korean individuals aged 18 and above were asked about their current favorite broadcasts and video programs. The results showed that “Queen of Tears”has maintained its position as the top-ranked program for three consecutive months, from March to May. This marks the first time a 16-episode drama has achieved this feat since Gallup Korea began conducting regular surveys.
