Quick Resource Gathering Tips in Assassin’s Creed Shadows — Wood, Crops, and More

When you start constructing your hideout for critical upgrades in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, you quickly discover that acquiring sufficient wood and crops can be quite troublesome.

This challenge arises because wood and crops are required in higher quantities than other crafting materials such as leather and minerals. If you aim to enhance your Forge for weapon engraving or establish a Study to expand your Scout capacity, there is an efficient method for gathering extra resources like wood and crops in AC: Shadows.

In Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, visiting a Port Trader can quickly replenish your stock of essential crafting materials, including wood, crops, and minerals. These traders have a rotating inventory, which regularly features various amounts of each resource.

If you’re at the beginning of your journey in AC: Shadows, you’ll find the first Port Trader located at the Port of Sakai, situated in the northwest region of Sakai. Refer to the accompanying image for precise navigation to this crucial location.

The cost of resources at the Port Trader varies: wood is priced at six Mon per unit, while crops are available for five Mon each. To illustrate, if you require 200 units of crops to construct your Study or upgrade your Forge, it will set you back a total of 1000 Mon.

Despite the high costs for larger quantities, relying solely on Port Traders for funding upgrades in your hideout may not be feasible. However, they are an excellent option when you only need a specific crafting material without engaging in a resource hunt in enemy strongholds.

In case a particular resource or crafting material is not available at the Port Trader, don’t worry; such inventory is prone to change with each in-game day or season. The selection of items and even the traders themselves typically rotate over time.

While there is currently no feature to fast-forward time automatically, returning to the Port Trader after completing a mission or two should refresh their inventory, providing you with fresh opportunities to stock up on needed resources.
