Knowing the best strategies to earn rupees quickly in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can significantly accelerate your gameplay. Accumulating a wealth of rupees is vital for purchasing accessories, creating smoothies, and unlocking outfits.
Farming rupees in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can be time-consuming, especially in the early phases when you lack access to optimal money-making gear. While the game’s Echoes can be unlocked without spending rupees, there are instances where you’ll need extra cash on hand.
The primary source of rupee expenses in Echoes of Wisdom comes from participating in minigames. These minigames offer rewards ranging from heart containers to outfits, but you need to fund your plays. Fortunately, there are five straightforward methods to earn quick money.
Simple Ways to Earn Rupees
1. Unlock the Goldfinch Automaton
The Goldfinch automaton is a great source of income in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
The Goldfinch automaton stands out as the most effective means of earning rupees in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This mechanical bird knocks rupees out of defeated enemies and can even assist in collecting them.
Enemies typically drop around 50 rupees each, which can quickly accumulate a large sum while farming in Hyrule Field. We recommend teaming the Goldfinch with the Silver Brooch to enhance the rupee drop rate from shattered objects and defeated monsters.
To unlock the Goldfinch, head to Dampe’s Studio after progressing through the storyline. For detailed instructions, check out our automaton guide.
2. Sell Golden Eggs
Golden Eggs can yield substantial rupees, but you must locate them first.
Golden Eggs represent the most lucrative item in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. These rare eggs command a selling price of 150 rupees each, making them an excellent option if you have a good stockpile.
You can uncover Golden Eggs hidden within chests across Hyrule or through side quest rewards. However, before selling all your Golden Eggs, consider using some to craft Smoothies.
Combining a Golden Egg with another ingredient like a Tough Mango yields a Golden Tough Smoothie, which restores 15 hearts and provides damage reduction for five minutes. Therefore, it’s wise to retain a few Golden Eggs for battles against dungeon bosses.
3. Make & Sell Smoothies
Save your Smoothies for optimal use before consumption.
Creating and selling Smoothies is another excellent way to generate fast cash. This is particularly true if you prepare Mixed Tough Smoothies using Tough Mangos. These fruits can be acquired from the Tough Mango Plant located in the Oasis of the Gerudo Desert.
You must complete the Tough Mango minigame to acquire these fruits, but once you gather a good amount, you can combine them into delicious Smoothies. Each Tough Mango Smoothie sells for 50 rupees, so be sure to offload them at the Smoothie Shops around Hyrule.
4. Unlock the Silver Brooch
As previously mentioned, the Silver Brooch enhances the frequency of rupee drops when breaking objects and defeating enemies. You can find the Silver Brooch in a chest to the west of River Zora Village. You’ll need to use a bomb to destroy the wall obstructing the chest’s location.
After acquiring the Silver Brooch, equip it and start breaking every object and defeating every monster you encounter. While you may not earn as many rupees as with the Goldfinch, you’ll still gather enough funds for those essential purchases.
5. Cut Grass
When you’re low on rupees, sometimes a good old yard work strategy works wonders. Use Zelda’s Sword form or any Echo that can slice grass (we found the Spiked Roller effective) and begin cutting grass.
There’s an excellent area with abundant long grass just northwest of Faron Wetlands, so take advantage of this spot in the early game.
Now that you’re equipped with these quick money-making strategies in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you’ll be ready to repair your Automatons and unlock various outfits.
